Hoot is a story about some kids trying to save an owl habitat from being destroyed by a pancake house developer. The main character is also trying to save himself from a bully on the bus but that’s another story! Hoot is a fun and quick read with memorable characters and a good plot.
I resisted reading this book for years because I don’t really like Sci-Fi, but after reading “When You Reach Me” I was intrigued. So I read it and it’s awesome! Three kids go on an intergalactic journey through the universe to save their father. Its major theme is good versus evil but it’s so much more than that. It’s a wonderful adventure filled with crazy characters and suspenseful action. Read it today!
Lucy Honeychurch is a young woman on holiday in Italy with her annoying “chaperon” of a cousin Miss Charlotte Bartlett. While lamenting that their room in the pension (hostel?) has no view, a gregarious but uncouth Mr. Emerson insists that they trade rooms as he and his son George have a view. This chance encounter sets into motion a series of events that will change Lucy forever and she has to ultimately choose between her fiance Mr. Vyse and the completely inappropriate George Emerson.
Moses is a girl who was found floating down the river during a hurricane when she was just a baby. Did her mother float her down the river to save her life or to get rid of her? Who is her mother? Where did she come from? Moses wants answers to these questions. But first, she must solve a murder and keep her best friend Dale from being arrested for said murder! She is as spunky a character as you will find in literature. Great characters, great story, and great book!
