Nobody (Bod for short) Owens is a boy being raised in a graveyard…..By ghosts…….With a guardian who is neither alive nor dead. Other than that, he’s just a normal kid! Bod’s entire family was murdered by a man named Jack. Why? And why does he still want to kill Bod? You’ll have to read this exciting book to find out!
The book I read was “The Westing Game.” It was a great book, though a little confusing at some parts. My favorite part was when Samuel W. Westing turned out to be four people: Sam Westing, Barney Northrup, Sandy Southers, and Julian R. Eastman. All of his names were the four directions, West, North, South, and East.
(From the book jacket) When Ben Harvester meets the mysterious Mr. October in London’s Highgate Cemetery, he has no idea what a strange and dramatic turn his life is about to take. But Ben soon discovers that Mr. October works for the Ministry of Pandemonium, a secret organization responsible for tracking down lost souls and guiding them to the afterlife. And Mr. October wants him to be his new recruit.
As Ben’s apprecnticeship begins, his eyes are opened to a new wold of wonder – a world where magic is real and ghosts haunt every crime scene, accident site, and hospital corridor.
But with the wonder comes horor. Because the Ministry is not the only organization hunting spirits of the dead. The ghoulish Lords of Sundown want those spirits for their own sinister reasons. And as far as they’re concerned, Ben’s just chosen the wrong side in a very dangerous war.
I have read “The Graveyard Shift.” It was an amazing book! I loved every part of it.
Every sports fan would enjoy this book! It is about two boys, Scott and Chris, an unlikely duo who become best of friends. They spend tons of time together in Scott’s half-size football field practicing football. They make the football team, one as a star, the other as a bench player unlikely to ever play. They never would have guessed how much one needed the other and their friendship grew because of it.
Pick it up, give it a read, and see how the school’s championship game comes down to the wire.
